5 Days Before...

Okay!  So I am making this blog before actually leaving for college.  I started this blog for my friends and family to keep in touch with me through my college days so even if I don't call every week, they will still be able to know what I am up to.  I leave in just 5 short days and I am absolutely ecstatic!  I have gone to private school since I was 4 years old and stayed through high school.  Well, I graduated May 2012 with 10 other kids that made up my senior class (I know, it's not much).  I had grown up in a small "bubble" of protection from the outside world and was, frankly, terrified to go off to college.  That is how I picked the college I will be attending this fall.  It is a small, Christian campus in Charleston, SC that is about 5 minutes from my aunt.  It was perfect!  The campus was cute, I had family close by and they are the top school in the state for my major (nursing).  After receiving my acceptance letter, things just fell into place.  I hadn't actually planned to leave so soon.  I thought I would stay in my hometown of Jacksonville until I had my Associates degree first.  That would have only been about a year since I took some college credit courses in high school.  Well, it just happened this way and I am now attending Charleston Southern University this fall.

It has seemed so far off until about sometime last week.  Things just... got real!  I have been packing and shopping, packing and shopping for what seems like months.  I am the type of person that likes things perfectly planned with a schedule or list.  So, with that being said, I am DEATHLY afraid of forgetting something no matter that there is a Target, Walmart, Office Depot, Publix, etc. within 10 miles of the campus.  I have tons of boxes that I will be hauling up to South Carolina this Thursday.  As I thought about the move, I was kinda sad to be leaving but even more excited to be leaving.  This will be my first chance to finally start over in a new place with new people.  I am sad to be leaving my parents and friends behind and my boyfriend, Warren.  Most of all, I am sad to be leaving a few furry and scaly friends from my house.  I have 2 cats (1 is an inside cat and the other is a lovable stray outside I just feed), a cuddly iguana and a recently acquired bearded dragon.  They all are so different and have such different personalities which I find remarkable.

As I already said, my aunt lives about 5 minutes from CSU which I am really looking forward to.  She has always been there for me to talk to and help me with anything even though we were miles apart.  Every summer, I would go up there to spend a week with her by the pool, going to new places for dinner and watching movies.  She even came on my senior trip with my mom and I.  So, Aunt Angie is kind of like a best friend to me.  I am really looking forward to being so close to her and just being able to hang out with her whenever I want.

Move in day is this Friday!  I will try to write a new post with some pictures of my dorm sometime this weekend.
